Everything you need for your first mate, in one box, and it ships free.

This kit brings together three of our best sellers so you can start the traditional way without guessing what goes with what.

  • Mate Calabash Cup (black or brown): a genuine calabash gourd with a metal rim and leather finish. Curing instructions included.
  • Curved Alpaca Silver Bombilla: a spoon-style filter that keeps the leaves in the gourd.
  • Canarias yerba mate, 500 g: Traditional for a bold, full-bodied cup, or Serena for a smoother, softer sip.

Bought separately these come to $62.97–$63.97, depending on the yerba. The kit is $54.99, and it clears our $50 free-shipping threshold on its own.

How to start: cure your gourd (about 24 hours), fill it about 3/4 with yerba, add a splash of cool water, then top up with hot (not boiling) water and sip through the bombilla. Refill and repeat.
